Deafmatters
Deaf Matters is Jill Newlands' trading name, Jill is a freelance interpreter and has worked as a CSW, educational interpreter and note-taker for many years and understands the difficulties faced in educational settings. Jill has developed courses to enhance CSW's skills and works with other trainers to provide innovative training that is suitably contextualised. Deaf Matters aims to expand its provision in the future and reach as many CSWs as possible. Jill is working with various organisations aiming to improve CSW training and education for Deaf people. Current courses are being advertised on Deaf Matters' website.

Our MD , Judith Hutchinson, is a member of the planning group of CHESS. The aim of CHESS is to increase the choice, access and quality of provision for deaf and hard of hearing students entering and undergoing Higher Education. The webpages of CHESS provide many useful links and also allow membership to the group forum for discussion of aims and interests.
