Interpreting Service

BSL Interpreters

British Sign Language (BSL) is the preferred method of communication and used by over 70,000 Deaf people in the UK. It is a rich and vibrant language using hand shapes, visual expressions, lip patterns and body language to translate and convey meaning.

Total Communication are acutely aware that throughout the duration of a one hour lecture, meeting or presentation that somewhere in the region of 20,000 words will need to be processed and delivered to the client. At all levels of translation this can prove to be very tiring for both interpreter and indeed client. In these environments more than one interpreter will be required.

Sign Supported English (SSE)

Sign Supported English is frequently used within the Deaf community, particularly when more detailed grammar needs to be included within the translation. As experienced interpreters we are more than happy to deliver whatever is requested by the client, whether BSL, SSE or a combination of both.

In addition our team are well rehearsed in "voicing-over" for clients and have accomplished presenters ensuring presentations are delivered to the highest standard expected of the client.
